Armin only mirage – Beirut: highlights video

On January 22nd 2011, the people of Lebanon united in peace and love at the seminal music event in the country’s history: Armin Only Mirage! 18.000 people gathered together for a night of unrelenting highlights. People from the whole Middle East region, Egypt, Dubai, Jordan, Paris and farther away such as London, Canada and even Australia gathered side by side with the Lebanese fans to celebrate the biggest ever music event in the Middle East.
The 9 hour DJ set by Armin van Buuren featured glittering star appearances by Sophie Ellis Bextor, Susana, Christian Burns, Nadia Ali, Ana Criado, Cathy Burton, Benno de Goeij, a full orchestra and Eller van Buuren’s rockband Bagga Bownz.
Mix FM, Lebanon’s Number 1 Hit Radio Station, worked for over 4 months to make sure every detail was perfectly covered and executed the largest campaign ever in the Middle East for a concert. Roger Saad, CEO: ‘I wanna thank everyone involved for giving Lebanon the most amazing night to remember for years to come. Thank you to the people of Lebanon and the region, for attending in their thousands. Their love for life and strength of spirit made this event the biggest event for the Middle East and gave the world a chance to see what Lebanon and its people are truly made of!’

Candy Dulfer at Campuspop Enschede

Candy will perform on Friday June 10th at the Campuspop Festival at the University of Twente in Enschede, The Netherlands. Candy will perform with a special line-up, including a special guest!

Anouk close off the second festival on Saturday, August 13. Anouk shows in the summer of 2011 only a handful of festival performances. One of them is in Ulft Huntenpop, a region where the singer for a while has not occurred. Cart sales started Friday, December 10th!

RUUD JOLIE: FOR ALL WE KNOW

for all we know

As some of you might have heard Ruud has been occupying himself with his acoustic Iron Maiden project “Maiden uniteD”.

His other new soloproject is called “For All We Know”. He has been working on it for quite a while now but the album is being mixed as we speak and the release is scheduled for april 2011.

He got help from great musicians like Léo Margarit (Pain of Salvation) on drums, Kristoffer Gildenlöw (Dial, ex-Pain of Salvation) on bass and one of the best singers you could ask for called Wudstik (Ayreon).

You’ll also find some guests like the guitarists John Wesley (live-guitarist Porcupine Tree) and Richie Faulkner (Lauren Harris) and the singers Damian Wilson (Threshold), Daniel Gildenlöw (Pain of Salvation) and Sharon den Adel (Within Temptation) on the album.

First Dutch artist gets Motown contract

Singer Waylon is the first Dutch solo artist who signed a contract with the American record label Motown.

His debut album Wicked Ways was produced by Martin Terefe and Sacha Skarbek, who previously worked with singers James Morrison and Jason Mraz. Waylon wrote many songs with the music producers and session musicians and then worked four months on his debut album in London. Ultimately the CD came via Universal to Motown.

"Waylon has a very exceptional voice and he is an excellent performer. We are very proud to welcome Waylon as the first Dutch solo artist ever with Motown," said Sylvia Rhone, President of Motown Records and Executive Vice President of Universal Records.

The Dutchman is now among other Motown stars, including Diana Ross, Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson. The Rock & Soul singer will bring out his first single "Wicked Way" on August 7th. Waylon received national fame when he participated in the TV talent show "Holland's Got Talent". Waylon gave a very impressive interpretation of "It's a Mans World 'by James Brown. The jury Henkjan Smits and Patricia Paay were also very impressed with this musical talent.
